Prayers for your dad’s recovery. This could have been much worse, so glad it was not. Also glad your brother was there with your dad. Having family member present at hospital, conversations with doctor, meds needed, dad’s health history, etc. is always a plus.

Update:

He is not out of the clear yet, the wound has been infected even though he has followed all advise/procedures so he is in the hospital for the next few days to figure out the next few steps. It’s a pretty big hole in is shin so it’s going to be a longer recovery than expected. Hoping for good news this week.

Hope he heals up quick. How does this even happen? Was the driver on the phone?

Here is a picture as of yesterday. We really don't know what the guy was doing, we assume he must have been on his phone. The odd thing is the guy didn't act sorry at all. Dad has been in contact with him for insurance and the guy has not once asked how dad is doing. The guy is a member at Pinehurst and has not even asked the club how dad is doing. It's really odd that you can hurt someone and not even care.

Oh man, don't know how I missed this! Sure sorry your dad is having to go through this!! The older we get, the more serious lower leg wounds can be. Our circulatory systems just don't carry the blood to our lower legs/feet that they once did... This is especially true if diabetes or pre-diabetes is in play. Don't know your dad's personal situation, but you're right, that is a BIG hole/wound!! You might want to suggest he get hyper-baric treatments for that wound... I've seen it work wonders for wounds that won't close.


Meanwhile, I'll sure pray for healing for your dad, and for peace for him, your mom, brother and you too! Hope he is able to get back to that bucket list real soon.
