I live on solid rock. I am trying to install some 3-4" posts for some gates around my property. If i need to install a t-post i drill a 1" hole 18" deep and am able to drive a post(with spade removed) approx 10" down. When it comes to the larger posts that will have a lot of stress in them i would like to throw concrete around them. Problem is you cant dig a hole where i live. An auger on anything will 100% not work and i cant drill a 4" hole without a well rig. So.......it would be cool if I could drill a hole 18" deep, drop a charge and instant fence post hole. My guess is nothing explosive would be for sale. I even tried drilling several holes as close to each other as I could and shop vacking out the dust. After an hour i said screw it.

...and the ATF is going to laugh you when you say you need TNT to build a fence. Hire someone with an air auger.

You may have to resort to a bar and post hole digger. I live on the same type of solid rock. You can dig it by hand but it will take a while. Growing up, my dad was the type that wanted a post hole all the way to china. I spent many days chipping rock from a post hole and digging the spoils out with a post hole digger. Enjoy lol

Moving from Nebraska to Canyon Lake area as a teenager I thought we moved to a different planet from all the freaking rock! It sure makes for one hellova solid post once you have chipped and chiseled out the hole and cemented in the post though.
