    Fishing Lake Whitney

Taking the family to the state park. Anyone know how the bank fishing is from there? Maps look like it’s a rocky shore and gets deep fast from by our camp site. Any info would be great.

I suggest you look up a guide and catch some stripers.

There are some good ones on whitney.

I'm not a fan of the Best Dam Guide service on a personal level but I always hear good things about Team RedNeck Guide service.

AND OP... Which park? Might be able to help.

Friend of mine and his son were in the stripers one morning along with one other boat who had a young kid with him and redneck came cruisin' right thru em and ran the fish off. Told 'em that's how he makes his livin' and blah blah. Guy in the other boat invited him to meet on the shore! I wouldn't use him if he was the only guide on Whitney. Call Clay Yadon-817-822-4668 or his buddy Dan Swindell.
There's some good bank fishin' in the state park OP. Below the RV spots down to the boat ramp and on the south end of the park by Whitney Creek. Lots folks catch some cats early and late.

Buy a bag of 20% range cubes, and hand slang about half the bag out.
Wait about 8hrs..Slip corks, and Danny Kings punch bait.#2 treble hooks..You will fill an ice chest up,in a hurry.

That stinks. Had only heard good things about him..

I've heard of the other two but really don't know much about them..

(I stink at fishing whitney and we've had a place for 27 years so i'm all ears for tips and have thought about going with a guide)

Clay and Dan were great and fun with the kiddos.
Pretty good in the shallows by Towash and Whitney creek right now in the evening when the bait fish roll in.

Is there more than one state park on Whitney?

                      Just Whitney State Park.
There are several other Corps of Engineer parks around the lake to camp at tho.

That’s what I thought...someone mentioned about stating which park we were staying in.

Dan Swindell is a great guide and guy overall. Give him a shot if you decide to go that route!
