You can put your bow stand at a stock tank that has tree cover or in a thick section of cover off a dry creek bed, no feeding in either location, which do you choose and why?

I put a game cam on a water trough on a new place we got on in February. This place is in Uvalde, and doesn't have any water tanks other than the cattle troughs. I was stupid excited to see what animals we were going to get on that camera because of the water. When I checked the camera I was shocked at the lack of activity. We got a little rain here and there, and I guess the deer in Uvalde just don't need water or something. I got pics of a bunch of hogs, a few deer, and cows. The feeder cams were much more productive. That being said, I'd be hunting the creek bed as a travel route.

Thickest cover on the way to stock tank. I’ve found wind mostly irrelevant for hunting purposes where “scent” is concerned. I’ve killed animals where I just took a crap and I use my own urine for mock scrapes.
I do find that wind makes a difference in how the deer move.Last edited by Johnny44; 05-27-2020, 04:19 PM.
