Gate opener guidance

Found a thread on here from 17. Manufacturers and things can change a lot in 3 years so here we go. Have a double 10' gate. Sections only weigh 100# each. Currently have a crappy might mule setup on battery w/solar. I have had to change the batteries every 6 months. Solar input on the control board burned out so i bypassed and yada yada.. That was 6 months ago. Now it will not stop beeping im done with it..

Wasnt wanting to drop 2k now. Only 3k away from starting my garage addition....

What brand and model would you suggest?

Check out ghost controls. They're a little more expensive than mighty mule, but a lot better opener for the money.

Lift master it is a great unit and holds up to heavy traffic. We use them on all of our installations. Good luck

I’ve researched gate openers for quite awhile now and I’ve decided to go with Ghost Controls as well. They have excellent reviews and I’m convinced they have a great product with an awesome warranty and reliable customer service. Seems to be a better value for the quality. I’ll be ordering straight from the manufacturer here in a couple of weeks.

Wonder why ghost controls is so much cheeper than apollo lift master ect. Maybe Quality or just not paying for the name.

Not sure. I can only speak to the ghost and mighty mule. I just installed a ghost for a client on a new entry way. He has an Apollo on another property but we convinced him to try the ghost. He's been very pleased with it.... Btw, I don't have any skin in the game with ghost. I just install them and know they have a quality product.......

I have 4 months experience with a Ghost control unit with zombie lock and exit sensor on a 12’l x 8’w gate. It has been trouble free so far.

New Apollo gate openers are garbage. They use to be made in Tx and were great. They got bought out a couple of years ago and moved. Had one last less then a year. The replacement didn’t work out of the box.
