Update from the weather station...

In case y'all are wondering how September shook out. Lot of rain, the pond was dry Sep 1 and I wasn't quite patient enough with the tractor (3 hours I'll never get back ).

Did anyone else hunt the opener?

It has been slllooowww at our ranch. I got skunked twice and saw 9 deer once (all doe, spikes, and a fawn). Haven’t seen anything with a rack. This not normal at all.

Can only assume it’s due to the recent rains, full moon, etc... I mean the decent bucks aren’t even on camera.

I had the same experience, a few does and a spike. My dad scouted from the rifle blind and only saw two young 1 or 2 year old 8pts and two does

Pops got it started for us...

You may have already seen this at the campfire but my dad got his best buck on his first hunt at the new property. The buck had the down just not the up due to brow tines and G2's. 17.5" Spread, 23" Beams, 4.5" bases. Body size down here is impressive, 191 on the hoof. Got the jaw back today from Taxi, he was 6 1/2. We are hooked! I do appreciate this thread.
