    Expired driver's license,and flying..

My wife, and I got married on the 6th of March..Shortly thereafter all of the local, state, and govt.agencies shut down..She had time to change her s.s.card to Hart, but before she could change her driver's license, they locked up..So my question is..Has anyone been allowed to fly with an expired license? Your license didn't match your s.s.card(even though the # remains the same) We have a short trip planned in July, and she's starting to freak out over the dmv not opening up..(with no end to this b.s.in sight)Flying to Iowa,in country;if it makes a difference. Thanks for any aspirin,in advance.

What is the name on the ticket, if it is under her maiden name she shouldn’t have an issue using her old license as long as it is still valid. Is her old license expired or just needs to be updated to her new last name?

I'm in the same boat. I havent booked a flight yet but was wanting to go visit my family this summer. I would start by calling the airline and asking them if they are allowing the expired ID's. Texas has released a date range that they say are still active even though they expired.

I flew, even internationally several times, on a license that was expired, for FOUR years (when it was finally noticed)....hehehe....(yes, I know it's stupid)

I got a ticket for speeding returning from a tournament. The officer (very nice guy) said, "did you know your license was expired....by four years???"....Hehehe. Officer loved golf so we ended up BS'n for 20 - 30 minutes and, in the end, I had to get a new license (had to retake the test) and present it to the court, etc. It ended up not being a big deal.

Moral of the story is this....

NOBODY, including myself, caught that my license was expired....gate agents.... Multiple customs agencies....TSA, etc.

Do I recommend flying on an expired license....lol....no.....

        However, I sure did....[emoji6]

Booked the flight with her married name,in early April.Thinking surely this would be a distant memory by July. Her license is still valid, but with her old name.

Just goes to show how the authorities in charge don't look closely at your identification other than pic, etc. At least in my case....hehehe

Probably not an issue but I would bring a secondary form like a passport. My wife had to use hers for about two months earlier this year.

Not true at the rental car counters in Sacramento, CA. Don't ask me how I know.

Call airline and have name changed on ticket. Did this for my wife this year when we went to cabo. Passport still had her old last name.
