Anyone Have An Artificial Turf Yard?

I am contemplating doing a small area right off my back porch as an artificial turf section.

Anyone have something like that currently at their home?

What is the life of something like this?

    Easy cleaning?

    Pros / Cons ?

    TIA!

Dang expensive. I was going to do my 8’x16’ dog run because it can be a muddy mess. It was going be $2000+, but that included some anti microbial filler and a filler that reduces surface temps by 10+ degrees. But the bulk of cost was fabric, and labor

I have customers who have put it in their whole backyard around a pool. One is 5 years old and still looks great. It is pricey.

No, but every time I mow, I wish I did

Our new place the backyard is turf and I love it. Though it would be terrible but it's super nice to not have to mow. The people we bought it from did it so not sure on cost, he owns a landscape company so it was done really well. With our dog you just pick up solid waste regularly and run the sprinklers every couple weeks. Simple green make a spray that hooks to the hose if it starts to smell and it kills all the bacteria. I do that every couple months and it's been great. Feels good on feet, only thing that sucks is having a toddler that will be painting in the driveway and have to catch her before she paints the grass because it won't grow out!

I think they do a base with sand and crushed gravel and level that out then put the turf down. We bought the house in Sept last year but haven't had any drainage issues so far

Did what you talking about at my daughter’s house in San Angelo. Just off the patio was always dirt and mud because of dogs and all that dirt always got tracked into house. We bought a few rolls at Costco that I think are about 4’ wide. Just leveled dirt and put down with stakes that it came with. Have a 4’ border around patio now and it has made a huge difference in dirt in house. Been down for just under 1 year so don’t have an idea on longevity but so far looks great still. I think it was about $90 a roll and around 10’ long. I know I saw some of those rolls in Costco last week.

Find a turf company pulling from a baseball field. Rent a vacuum and get all the sand rubber out or have them do it. Level yard- roll out and glue together and put sand back in it. Great time saver over the years in my opinion. When I move I want a concrete yard or gravel.
