    depth finder issues

Any tricks to a transducer hook up...My depth finer goes anywhere from 30ft to 50 ft at Lake Somerville...and I know the max depth is 20 ft or so on that Lake......
I have adjusted it a few times and get the same reading....

It was on the boat when purchased....

Frustrating....I really like knowing the water depth when running around the Lake

Sounds like one of the cables is being smashed. Id bet you're seeing a double bottom though, post a pic of the screen and I bet you'll likely see some washout in the middle of the readout which is actually the bottom and would put it in the 15-25ft range.

Mine was acting really dumb and glitchy after being on for about 30mins to an hour. Figured it was a power issue since it was always perfect with a fresh battery or with a 10 minute run across the lake. My brother tapped into the power wires for both front and rear graph and installed a (forgot what’s it’s called) but they run directly to the battery now and when main power to boat power is turned on it gets direct power to graph from battery. That way it’s not all wired into master power switch. Fixed all issues and even made screen more clear.

Are you getting those reading while you not moving, or only when your running? A lot of transducers mounted on the transom will not accurately ready over about 10-15 MPH

Could it be the offset settings. Not sure if the offset allow for that much but it might.

                    What type hull
Flat Bottom Hulls: a hull that has almost no deadrise.
Deep-V Hulls: a wedge-shaped hull from bow to stern.
Modified-V Hulls: the most common hull for small boats.
Catamarans: two hulls bridged by a deck.

As a transducer has to be set up different for each type
You also might check the hull cavitation near the transducer
Another idea is your cable is to close to the battery cable
