Tagging out next season?

Was wondering if this Covid-19 continues into the fall, how many hunters will Consider shooting more does or just put more deer meat in the freezer. Pretty much how it would change the mindset of going into the season.

If it doesn’t get straightened out by then I may negotiate a deal with the landowner to shoot one of his cows!

Absolutely. With the Covid and the scare of a meat shortage, my wife has been less reluctant to consume vension. I usually shoot 2 deer a year and am good until next season. My wife and I have gone through the majority of our freezer already. I'll definitely be shooting more deer.

If economic situations called for that I would think a person would drop his lease for a first choice (if they were on a lease). Covid 19 wouldn’t change my hunting situation.

I made up my mind before covid even started to put a couple of extra does in the freezer. We killed five deer last year and at least 70% of that is already gone.

The price we pay for these leases, etc and taking a doe two or three isn’t going to hurt the population these days.

Still working that shift work I see? I don’t miss it since retirement but still wake up early 5 years into it.

Yes sir. I will probably wake up early for the rest of my life. No alarm clock needed the last 20 years. Sleeping in until 6am is late for me.

well, our lease agreement states that we HAVE TO shoot 3 does and are encouraged to whack whatever exotics that we see be cause the landowner despises them....7 deer in the freezer last season. Don't see us eating/needing more than that

I laugh at the liberal folks I work with and around. I have heard “I bet you wish you shot more deer last year” several times. I always respond with “I still know where they live”

I try to tag out every year. 4 or 5 deer won't last us until the next season.

We couldn't fit any more in our freezers than we had this year. We plan for a pandemic every year, lol.
