Faux beam project

My front porch has 2 columns that needed some TLC. So I decided to try my had a faux cedar beams. I think it turned out pretty good.

Of course now I have to redo the stain on all the shutters so everything matches.

Very handsome. Some gutters on that front valley will go a long way in keeping them handsome. I can see youve got some problems with drainage and splash.

If no gutter install and they do begin to rot at the base...you might consider a metal footer to keep them off the concrete to allow good drainage off the wood.

A new roof is in the near future with full gutters.
