I’m a dog man and I have had my share of great dogs . But there’s always that one that’s just it . It’s hard to find a replacement that will meet a set standard developed by a dog like rowdy.
Had a Rowdy Dog many years ago. He wondered up to a fire station and lived there for a few weeks before we took him home. We guessed that he was Sheppard and Rodision Ridge back. Don't know, be he sure was a good dog. His favorite toy was a 16 pound bowling ball. He was great, all 120 pounds of him. Thanks for reminding me and may you remember your Rowdy in the years to come the same as I remember mine.
Hate to hear that Court. Good dogs are some of the most loyal ya can find. Sometimes more loyal than people. And they know their job. They are the ones that make memories that last a life time. Ones that are never forgotten. Sometimes we get so involved with them, and them with us, death is the only way a bond is broken. It's much like losing a life long friend. Cause at times, they are your friend. They depend on you. Just like you depend on them. It's a mutual exchange. But what they give is a great treasure in return. And a treasure that is never forgotten.
I'm on my last one. She is 12 now. When she is gone, I'll probably have no more. I certainly am not looking forward to that day. But I will always have those gifts of memories she has brought.
Forgive me if I didn’t read it all, I know how that would end.
I’m very sorry for your loss. The only down side to having a truly great dog, is the inevitable end. It’s a tough deal, but real dog people make it because real dogs make it worth it. She’s the one that the rest will be measured against, from now on. I’ve heard it said, that is is the best deal man/lady has ever made.
Condolences again, to you and Rod. Cheers to Rowdy!
Continued virtual Hugs and real prayers for you and Rod. I had the pleasure of seeing Rowdy work first hand so I know how special she was. But I didn’t have to see that...only to read your posts...to know how much she meant to you.
Oh Courtney, I am so sorry for your loss. Tracey texted me this afternoon and told me. It is so hard to lose one at any time, but losing one in their prime is the hardest.
