    Fish and ski boat opinions

What’s your opinion on a fish and ski boat and what brands/model do you recommend? Have had a couple of guys tell me that if i want a fish and ski boat then I just need to buy two boats.

I would have to agree on getting two boats. Maybe even a third.

You can ski behind a fishing boat all day long. It’s hard to fish out of a ski boat...

You can ski out of a bass boat, way better than you can fish out of a ski boat.
        Re-sale on Fish/ski boats doesn't happen.

I bought an old Cajun fish and ski several years ago and fixed it up.

It was a pretty sweet setup. I think if you find one where the back seats can fold down to extend the floor then you’ll enjoy it.

It did just about everything a regular bass boat could.

Maybe not on new ones. But I bought one for $2000, put $1,000 into the interior, sold it for $9,000. The market is the typical family man.

If you are true fisherman you will be ******... if you love to ski you will be less ****** .

There are two "types" of fish and ski (not counting pontoons)...those that are runabouts modded to be fishing boats, and those that are bass boats modded to hold more passengers. I have the later, a Champion fish and ski, and it fishes very well and it allows me to haul 5 people when needed. Having had multiple boats over the years it is the closest to a dual purpose that I have had. I have never really thought the runabouts fished well at all. I do agree that you are better off having two boats if you can swing it.

Agree. Down here on the coast there are a lot of center console bay boats rigged with ski poles that adequately serve both purposes. In my community there are Blue Wave, Nauticstar, Blackjack, Pathfinder, Tidewater, and I'm sure other boats I can't think of set up nicely to serve both functions.

I've pulled skiers behind my fishing boat without a problem. My brother let his wife talk him into buying a fish and ski and he cussed it every minute he tried to fish out of it. It finally just sat there and rotted away because he hated using it.

I had a F/S 1800 Astro for 22 years that I raised the family fishing and skiing. Would still have it if the Llano river had not taken it from me October 16, 2018

I had a fish and ski for several years. It was the runabout type. I recently got a center console and the entire family loves this boat compared to the other one. Plenty of room for everyone. It fishes great and pulls tubes as well.

My father in law has a triton fish and ski and it does both pretty darn well.
