    Dwarf Deer

Saw one on FB and was reminded that I shot one last season, and my brother did in 2018 on our family ranch. Not going to lie, I was majorly disappointed. It looked huge by itself about 100 yards off through the mesquites. 15 inch spread on a mini buck means his antlers looked disproportionally large. He weighed like 80 lbs. Half the size of the other buck I shot. Anyone else shot one?

Saw one like years ago that was killed in Tensas parish Louisiana. Big, heavy horns and mature looking body...weighed less than #100.

          Kind of freaky looking.

Yep, we had one first noticed in 2008. About 10" shorter than other bucks his age. Ex wife shot him in 2012 at 6.5yo and about 95" gross. 13" rule kept us from taking him sooner.

Sounds like your typical hill country deer

I had a chance at a little 6 point in the Sam Houston NF many years ago. IT was no bigger than 60 lbs and had 6 points. It was so small I passed on shooting it. To this day, I have never seen another one that size.

My buddys wife killed one a couple years back. He looked like a mini angus bull as a 6 yr old. We called him simon birch the 2-3 years we had him on camera. By himself he looked like a stud, with the other deer he was scaled down appropriately by 40-50%

Found a pic of my brothers deer. Tiny body, rack was average size, smaller than it looks in the picture.
