Looked up the serial on the scope. Appears to be a 1974 model

Neat. I recently helped a buddy get a vari x ii off of here and its serial number doesnt have a letter. Its pre 1974 and looks as good as it would have brand new

Looking forward to getting some range time and eventually getting Cooper comfortable enough to harvest his first animal with it.

Hey make sure you check the free float it you can’t get it group tight my stock in my .270 American touched in Several places they are know for sub par crooked cheap stocks. I was shooting flyers and bad groups even when I was reloading, come to find out the stock was shaped like a snake could even slide a dollar half way up between the barrel n stock lol a little sanding if a few places helped a lot

Haven’t made it to the range yet... did buy a can for him so while waiting for that to get out of BATFE jail, I had my gunsmith thread it and put the ASR muzzle break on. Also had him put one on my 30.06 as well. Picked them up today. I’ll head to the range soon to zero them.
