Best place to buy new 250 lbs Propane Tank????

I am putting a 250lbs propane tank at my home and need to buy a tank. Where can I get the best price on a new tank? So far $1,300 (comes with the 2 regulators needed) is the best I have found from a Propane company in Dayton TX. I would rather find some place closer to my home in Alvin TX or Houston. I have a trailer and can go pick it up.

Who would you go to for this item?

    Thanks Green Screen!

Ask the propane companies if they have any used tanks for sale. I bought mine for a couple hundred then pressure washed and painted it myself.

        Try HOPPS in Santa Fe.

$1300 is not a bad deal, I have some refurbished tanks (new coating and all new valves) for $800 but I'm a long way away.

Ask the propane company if they rent them. Star Propane rented me mine for like $5 per month. He even told me he knows it doesn't add up so of course everyone would rent.

As said above buy used or rent. I have a used tank that’s old as dirt but was revalved Ect and has been sitting by my camper for 3 years.

The propane distributors have been giving me free Brand new tanks for years, everything from 100 lbs tanks to 250gallon-1000 gallon tanks
And even deliver and plumb the tanks to a permanent structure for free
                  Is this not the norm??

I got a 250 gallon tank for “free” by signing up for propane delivery. I was going to need the delivery anyways so I was happy to do it.

Who did you use for this?

I have one that is about 70% full that I "think" I don't need. We are building and I think the gas company is now on our road so I will be hooking up to them and will be selling this tank.

Barta Brothers in Damon quoted me $1,000 for just the tank and Coastal in Rosenberg was $1,350

This is the 'best place' ... except I bought mine from an individual that worked for a propane company. He checked everything on it and even delivered it for about $200. Had it for several years now and I'm not 'tied' to a certain propane company for any service.
