    Turbos on ecoboost leaking coolant

Pulled the drivers turbo on my brothers f150 2012 EcoBoost bc it was seeping coolant...talk about a pain in the arse.
Replaced the 2 coolant fittings on the turbo and put it back in now leak free...
My question has anyone done the ones on the back of the cylinder head? I cant see how to reach those without pulling the transmission or at least the intake manifold off!

When Ford does it, they pull the intake manifold off to get to the turbos. My 2015 3.5 had the turbo leak, and after seeing the cost to repair and that the repair was not likely to be a one time event, I sold the truck.

My buddy sold his because Ford told him this wasn't covered in powertrain. Anyone heard of that?

Looked at one and ford dealer told me service life on the is about 150,000 miles.

I went and bought a tundra.

I firmly believe ford engineered it like this bc they want to make more money off the truck.
A simple fix would be to use AN fittings that are leak proof but that would be too easy... another reason I hate ford.... but i still love my ol 5.0 foxbody hatch

Wonder if the 2020's are the same?

I bought the V8 @ 385HP for this very reason -- worry about turbos. I'm guessing there are turbos that can go the distance but it seems like, across the board, turbos have a finite life that is less than a simpler system, all else being equal.

My work truck had 32k miles on it when a turbo decided to take a dump.

I have four of them and zero problems...2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018. Love the Ecoboost.
