Elk hunt anyone?

Guys during our last week in Colorado canceled due to finances and the corona. They’ve been going the last 2 years. Need to find a couple people to take the last week on our lease. Sep 22-29. Unit 85 and over the counter tags near Trinidad. Yes this is the same place as the last post I had in reference to an elk hunt. Lol. Ive tagged out the last two years in a row.

$5500 and each hunter can kill a legal elk. No ATV’s and no driving on property other than to park.

This is for 350 ish acres next to land locked state trust land of 1600 acres. No guides. It’s a diy hunt. We have two secluded water holes that get elk on them regularly. I’ve killed two years in a row. Who ever hunts this year has first option to renew next year. I raffled off the first week but due to the thread getting whacked, I’m not doing it for this week. Camping on site if you’d like.

Also, there will only be 4 hunters total that hunt before this week. That’s it. Myself, my wife, the man that won the raffle, and his hunting partner. We keep it very low pressured.

How many elk does your group normally kill each year on the 350 acres? The two getting the last week would be looking at going after Elk 5 and 6, right?

Yes. Should be 5 and 6. I was solo the last 2 years so they would have been going after bulls 4 and 5. Typically, each group gets an opportunity. But some people aren’t comfortable with shooting past 40 so elk get passed. Or they get busted bc elk come from behind them and catch movement. Or people drive around in an atv and push the elk back 4 canyons. Which is why atv’s are banned from this year going forward.
