      Judging by the pics, there seems to be multiple voids and a knot, which might make it hard to serve its function as a cutting board. If selling, gotta remember food safety. If those are voids and a knot and not filled in with resin or something, that would promote bacteria growth in my opinion. The material itself is worth $15 at the most. Craftsmanship is good. Pattern could be improved as others have said. I would say $40 to $50. Definitely a good practice board though for the creator.

        I use a lot of maple, black walnut, & cherry, but will also use some exotic woods when I can find good deals. I mainly make them for gifts, because I'd have to charge too much to make money on the end grain boards. Tell him to check out YouTube for tips on making end grain boards... you can make some pretty cool patterns if you do it right.
