    Remedy and Diesel

What is the best mix ratio to kill bamboo? I’ve cut a jungle out of my backyard and it is now wanting to grow back. From all the threads I’ve read it seems like this is the best approach. Remedy isn’t cheap so I’m curious how y’all applied it successfully.

According to Jerry Parson @plantanswers.com Nothing kills Bamboo. Good luck.

I used the same 17% mix, that I used to base spray trees, on Lariope, and it did a thorough job. Lariope is a grass, like bamboo, and this is the only poison I found to kill it.

You can find other herbicides that contain 61% Triclopyr, which is what Remedy Ultra contains. I found one brand that was $149, for two gallons. I don't have a link to it.

I’ve killed it with Gly @ 5oz per gallon. Had to spray regrowth 2-3 times but that’s been 5-6 years ago... it gone

I picked up some Remedy from Tractor Supply. We will see how it goes.

                I've always mixed it:

                Diesel to Remedy
                5 to 1

In my experience that'll kill everything but a steel post.

Relegate is the generic equivalent of Remedy. It’s cheaper but works the same.

Technically, bamboo is a "grass". Remedy is a broad leaf/tree/shrub herbicide . The diesel most likely is providing plant kill. Based on this, I would cut Bamboo, spray high concentrations of glyphosate on the Bases. You could even follow up with just diesel if you see regrowth. Save your $ on the Remedy.

I could be wrong but unless you’re going to cut it at the ground, you dont need to mix with diesel. If you’re doing foliar application on smaller stuff, you can just mix with water and spray. I just mix with water and dye to mark what has been sprayed and works well on small huisache.

I have experimented a lot with diesel and remedy on tallows and yaupon. The ratio I use now is like 4 (diesel) to 1 (remedy). Seems to be working. This is first year I cut it so much. Remedy is too expensive to over mix! I will even try 5 to 1 and see how that works in future based on what I am reading. When it’s cut that much I am a little more liberal on the application.

I’ve got away from mixing diesel with poison and replaced with water and dawn soap. It’s way more pleasant and cheaper plus a a great kill ratio.

                              I use diesel /remedy 3 to 1 or 4 to 1. Learned from an old-timer
