I watched it this weekend during the rain. It has flashbacks to ruby ridge. Which iv watched also. It definitely gives you the vibe that big brother doesn't have our best interest at heart. Its worth a watch. Just take it with a grain or salt. I was 8 when Waco happened and don't really know heads from tail whats the truth.

We just started watching.
I am a bit of a history nerd. So have done a fair bit of research into the Branch Davidians and Ruby Ridge.
One thing that has always irked me is they won't stop calling it WACO. The compound was in Elk,TX. About 20 miles east of waco. Next closest city is bell meade.
Also, I used to live about 2 miles from what's left of it.
Ironically, got into some research a few years ago, and where I live now by Lake waco is where their original compound was. They owned a lot of land where vanguard prep school is. They eventually sold it as waco was growing closer to them.
The vanguard library is an original branch davidian building and has a giant star in the floor tile.
Also the Mt Carmel water treatment facility is part of where they originally were.
The compound in elk was the "new" Mt Carmel.
Also, they had a very long history and were more of a keep to themselves religious group before the shake up and Koresh taking over.
There are several similarities to Ruby Ridge and Branch Davidian messes.
Lots of the same people. Interesting foot note is a sniper named Lon Horiuche, (spelling may be off) was the trigger man at Ruby Ridge. And was also brought in at BD. And he was posted within a house a ways away. Although official report shows no sniper fire was used they did find 308 casings in his hiding area after the incident. Just researching that guy was a heck of a wormhole.
Also our local sheriff has made statements they could have brought Koresh in peacefully any time and the feds shut that down and didn't want it.
My biggest ? Throughout all my research is a good reason why these people were targeted, and why the force that was brought was brought down in the way it was. I don't think it would ever happen in today's media climate. But even back then its bizarre.
Plenty of drug cartel guys in every major city that have more fire power and people in compounds than Weaver or The davidians.
Will probably never know.

We finished last night. I remember it well. My wife (10 years younger) didn’t. She was in tears by the end
I look back now at how one sided all reporting was then as well as now. As a teen back then I though “what a bunch of weirdos”.... now I can say, “yea they where weirdos, but not deserving of what happened.
I’m sure like most things, the truth lies in the middle, sad situation reguardless that I now feel was 100% avoidable

My thoughts were they were just trying to amplify the stereotype for those who don't know better.

Have also said the feds were the ones that opened fire first. IE the video of the officer on the roof. (For tin foil guys the sniper I mentioned earlier).
They actually did a really good job of portraying what that compound looked like. Down to the gate, the house across the street, etc. Its pretty much rolling grass and mesquite land out there.
I've dug into it a lot. But it's clear as mud. Like a lot of other stuff we'll probably never have an absolute answer.
I think we have some TBH guys here that were there on the gov side. Don't remember to what capacity. They would know what they saw. But we never will.

This happened under Clinton's watch along with Janet Reno. They send in the ATF initially and I believe they went about it in the wrong way. The reason we don't really know the truth is because__________. I will let you fill in the blank. If they really wanted to arrest them without a gun fight there were multiple oppurtunities for them t do so.
Was Koresh a nut? I believe he was.
Did they have to kill all of those children inside? HELL NO
