I have an LG 12,000 btu at the deer lease, have it setup on an timer I bought off Amazon which turns it on every Friday at 2:00 pm and shuts it off at 8:00pm, so it’s nice and cool when I get there and if I don’t show it turns off at 8.
Need a window AC unit for 40 ft high cube container
Any suggestions on what brand is good
Prefer quiet as well
Is 10k btu sufficient
Completely depends on whether you are going to insulate and if you are in the sun or shade. I bought a 40 ft high cube from a guy who built them out and he said 8k BTU was perfect (if insulated). It runs enough to not cycle on and off all the time and cools/heats efficiently. If building separate rooms the mini-splits are awesome.

Planning 2" closed foam on walls and ceiling with R19 batt insulation added to ceiling. Should be well insulated. Putting roof over top of containers to shade.
Sounds like 8000 to 10000 btu should work
Thanks for earlier Friedrich AC comments. Was thinking of going that route, but heard some recent comments on customer service that has me wondering if that is the right system

Cool, I would think 8-10K BTU would be great. After insulation/interior framing etc. you will be right at 300 sq. ft. Most Acs will indicate square footage to be cooled.
We went with Friedrich in our cabin and have been very pleased. Roughly 18 years with no issues.
We have a Friedrich at the Lease for 14 years and no issues. They use to be bullet proof when they were made in San Antonio, but not sure of the quality now as I believe they moved to Mexico or overseas.
