The Way Back

We stumbled on The Way Back on Amazon Prime last night and we were glad we did. It is a Peter Wier movie that has Ed Harris as a supporting actor.

It is based on the incredible true story of some Polish political prisoners held in a Siberian gulag in 1941 and their amazing escape. They traveled 4500 miles south to India.

Don't confuse this one with the newly released one about a guy who was a star basketball player and has to coach basketball. Although, that may be good, the one we watched is a great movie of survival against all odds.

Good movie but if I remember right it gives the impression of a true story but isn't?

No, it is a based on a true story. They walked to India. They tell you that at the front of the movie. If it wasn't for the one guy's woodsman skills, they would not have made it past a few days.
