Got a turkey today with a leg band. Band says call TP&W for a $100 reward! Anyone got one of these and claimed the reward? Does TP&W keep the band?

My buddy killed one during deer season. You get to keep band. They’ll send you a certificate and when the biologist calls he will tell you how many were banded and age. Took about 2-3 weeks for check. The biologist conversation info is optional if I remember right. We were curious so we asked to speak to him.

Yep.
They told us how many they banded , about where at, the sexes of what was banded, how many had been killed that were banded. I believe that was it. He did tell us the money birds weren’t common at all.
