    Is it just me or..

Do any of you have a friend or a hunting buddy that never kills any. I mean president of the AKS aint killin Sheet hunt club. But text you every year talking about the latest bow and gear he just bought. Hell even buys a new gun every year.hunts good properties but may just be a ssssshhhh terrible hunter. When u do hunt with that person you undestand excactly why ge dint kill sheet.

Got a friend who hasn’t bought a new bow or hunting gun in 20 years and hasn’t killed a deer in at least 10 years but he sure does enjoy sitting in woods and picking on me about my new guns bows and having to skin and butcher all them deer and hogs I shoot

I know the type. My father-in-law paid great money for a lease back in the day. Saw him sit a lot and never saw him kill a deer.

I seldom shoot a buck, but enjoy going as much as anybody. It is where I ended up after 55 years of living for deer hunting. I love to shoot hogs however.

My blood lust is pretty well satisfied. Before the big buck I shot this year, I hadn’t killed a buck in years, and rarely shoot does. I’ll go and do a cull hunt if it needed for management, but haven’t had to in a while. At this point in my life, I am just much more interested in getting into camp, hanging with friends/family, cooking, watching the animals and sunrise/sets, getting my kids in the woods, and all the other stuff that goes into deer season. I am more excited for the other folks who kill nowadays, especially if it’s their first deer, first buck, biggest buck, whatever. Even moreso when it’s kids who get the kill. If I personally never kill another deer for the rest of my life, I’d keep paying lease fees for my kids and all the other stuff that goes along with it. Got a 175” with my bow this year, so don’t need much more in terms of horns.

There's a man who went to church every Sunday morning without skipping a beat. Every service he would fall asleep and occasionally snore, but the preacher ignored it. Eventually someone asked the preacher if it bothered him that this man fell asleep during his service every single Sunday. Preacher said "nope, i know his wife and this is probably the only good rest he gets all week".

Actually, I hunted for years without killing a buck. I simply kept passing on some decent bucks waiting for a bigger one. I don't know why; mostly because I didn't want to shoot anything smaller than I already had shot. I just wanted each one to be better than what I already had. Maybe subconsciously it was because I didn't want my season to be over too soon. IDK

A friend who is on TBH told me once that it was not all about the killing...but it is part of it!

I have now passed more great deer, larger than I have on the wall, but it is because of the management rules on the place I now hunt. I shoot culls and does.
