Go to a sporting goods store and buy a buff or something similar. Nothing will be more comfortable.

Can't use them due to safety concerns. Whatever we use has to be able to release from your head in case it gets caught in the machine. Back in the day I've seen guy's get pulled in by their hair. Not a pretty sight.

Here's what my wife made for us to use. And you can wash and reuse them!

I sent her a text. If I'm going to buy them, might as well let someone's daughter on here make a little coin.

That's dumb. A buff is so thin it will rip right off. They are tight and you'd have to be kissing your work piece for the buff to get caught on anything.

Yeah, I think it is silly too. But rules are rules. We had a guy get his shirt sleeve caught in his spindle a while back. Luckily he was wear a button up shirt cause it got ripped completely off of him.

Its dumb until it's not. Seen plenty of guys get real messed up while I was in the steel mill for not following rules like that. Guys lose fingers cause of a ring stuck, or shocked to death due to an arc and not supposed to be wearing jewelery and should be wearing gloves, head smashed in at the rolling mill because they got caught and missed the other safety criteria of turning everything off and telling someone, etc. I know it's not the same as a machine shop, but it sounds like a reasonable safety thing.

I know all about why there are particular regulations, we have to explain it to every new employee in the winter when they want to try to wear gloves. I’ve seen my share of amputated and or mutilated fingers, more than I’d care to. I hope I never see another.

This particular regulation is dumb. Whoever wrote it did it poorly. You have to wear a face mask but the one that is absolutely the least like to get caught on anything is forbidden.
