    Who uses a tree saddle?

I "usually" have access to one amazing property through invite during deer season. However, I only get to hunt the property for one long weekend and it is too far of a drive to scout. There are only a few ground box blinds set up on food plots and if you want to hunt somewhere else it is up to you. I have a popup blind that does me well but there is one spot on the property that is down by a large stream, corner of the property, big tall trees all around, and just looks like prime deer habitat. I would love to get up in the trees with my bow this coming season and try my luck in this "honey hole". P.S. I killed my biggest buck to date last year right on the outside of it by dumb luck.

HERE IS MY QUESTION, I have zero experience hunting out of a tree stand or saddle, nor do I own any. I like the idea of a saddle being lightweight and mobile which is why I am leaning in that direction. However, is a saddle so mobile and easy enough to set up that I could walk into this area blind and in the dark (first morning hunt of the weekend) and safely get up in a tree without spooking everything around me? Realistically, does this setup require some set up or is it pretty easy to get up in a random tree quickly?

I have a mantis saddle I hunted from last season, I would say if you haven't scouted the area at all and went blind it would be easier setup than a stand.

Problem is it's expensive to get all the gear you really need for saddle hunting, and if you're only needing it for one weekend I don't think it would be worth it over a cheaper academy tree stand setup.

With all that said, I really like my saddle and found it opened up a lot of tree's that I couldn't get in with a tree stand. I bought some of those cheaper game winner 20' ladders and preset them in a few area's I hunt often, then I also have a set of hawks for when I need to be mobile.

I like using a saddle over my climber. It might take a minute to figure out your platform and climbing method. I like wild edge steps

Get you a Millenium Tree Seat and a section of camo material and hunt from the ground. The Millenium sets up in 30 seconds and you can sit all day in it. Very comfortable.

I bought mine from Academy for $69.99 with free shipping last fall.
