What is coming out of this baby armadillo. My sister and kids found it 2 days ago and it looked fine. they have been keeping a eye on it and it looked like this this morning and now is dead? Any ideas?

Those are fly eggs. They laid them in the soft part of the shell where the creases are.

I don't know, but be very careful those things carry lots of diseases and leprosy.

Hate to see anything suffer. Poor thing had somethin bad wrong with it. A baby armadillo ain't something I've ever seen before.

On a side note, armadillos give birth to quadruplets, identical to the number of hairs.

On another side note, if you toss them in the water, they will run across the bottom, come up for air, go back down, and run some more.
I may or may not have done this dozens of time, in the deep holes, on the upper Cossatot as kid.
