How to kill armadillos?

You can build one for $15 -- I did. Nothing magic about it, but I put 2x8s to funnel them into the trap. Leave the first catch inside the trap 24 hrs to "season" the trap.

I looked at the trap and looks pretty straightforward. Only thing I am not clear on is the trigger. Any tips on the trigger?

The rod/dowel in the center that goes thru the hole in the top has a notch cut in its side. The notch hooks on the inside surface of the trap, and when the critter tries to pass by it, the notch lets go and the doors drop. I screwed a piece of flat metal on the top of mine so the notched dowel would be easier to set.

I live in a 2-street neighborhood, long and only 4 rows of homes, with lots of acreage on either side----we have an armadillo problem in warm weather---caught 33 last year. Haven't had any signs this spring so far.
