I’m betting 35 would be plenty power but you need a tractor with enough azz to not get tippy with the mower lifted up even when not perfectly level.
They did the demo with a Kubota compact but my sales rep said it was sketchy on the tilt scale. He considers the M series to be ideal and I agree, these come from 50-70 hp. Mine is a 70.

Thanks Brent. I think that's about the same frame size as my JD... The 5000 series are 45-75. I'm gonna take a serious look at one of these suckers. I just spent about 4-5 hours mowing brush around one of my dirt tanks Friday with a DR field n brush mower... That sucker like to have killed me!! I'm gettin' too dang old for that kind of stuff!!

What happens when you hit a limb bigger than 3" ?
I'm dreaming of the day they make one like this with super blades I can cut down cedars with LOL
Hydraulic motor just bogs down if it can’t handle the load.

The cutter doesn’t weigh much but when cutting fence rows etc it is offset about 5’ RT of center, add that to off level situations and you need a heavy tractor but not necessarily a high horsepower tractor

That’s what held me off for a while on this purchase, it’s amazing for what it does but in reality this work only needs doing every 2-3 years.
The stuff I did this weekend had nothing done but my futile attempts with a limb saw for 10 years....
Now that I have 4-5 hours running it I think it’s awesome for brush and limbs up to about 2”, your bigger limbs still need a pole saw. Mowing flat is only consistent if it’s on the skids so you leave two skid tracks everywhere you mow
