    Any one use ReportVinCheck ?

Has anyone used ReportVinCheck to see the history of a truck?

A guy that is thinking about buying my truck is asking for one. Thought I'd ask y'alls opinion before buying a report.

don't do it , its most likely a scam to get you to buy a bogus report from there websight . it happin to me on craigs list when I sold a van but I caught it when three inquires wanted the same report.

let him buy a report if he wants one,,, also if your being legit during the sale he may become a pain in the rear, he sounds a bit more than nit picky to me

Hmmm, I may give him the VIN and tell him if if he gets the report. And buys the truck...I'd deduct it from price.

That’s a scam. All they do is get people to pay $40 on their bogus history report website, then you’ll never hear from them again.

This isn't necessarily specific to the site you mentioned but... A vehicle history typically helps when selling, however I would say not to use your money on it until you know someone is committed to giving it serious consideration. It shows you have confidence in the vehicle's history by providing it. Even better, offer to pay for a third party inspection if you know they are serious. I wouldn't trust an unknown website to solidify someone's belief in a vehicle. Nor would I trust it if I was the buyer.

These reports are “feel good” for a potential buyer. Yes, they can tell you about accidents etc. if the claims were actually reported. I would trust paying your trusted shop/dealership to look the vehicle over. Pay the guy/gal to test drive, pull the wheels, look underneath, and look for damage or previous repairs. This will prove more accurate and give a real life scenario of the car/truck. Just my two cents worth.

                  Caveat emptor.
If the buyer wants it, let him buy the report. Carfax is another source.

Not always a scam... I was in the same position and bought the report. After I provided the report to the guy he purchased my vehicle.

I think this is a great idea. I wouldn't be hesitant to provide your VIN as someone else mentioned, anything they could glean from that is public information anyways.

I replied back that the website did not get good reviews and I did not want to put my personal info in there. I asked if Carfax or other well companies would work.

He replied and said no...Lender said it has to be that one. Something about legal issues.

He don't sound to interested in the truck.
