    Wanting information on Snake boots

Good Morning Texas! Looking for information on some quality snake boots. I've owned a couple of pairs over the past few years but they just don't last long enough before they start leaking or coming apart. Any and all information will be appreciated.

Chippewa is an excellent boot. Lacrosse also makes a good waterproof snake boot.

I wore the same pair of Justin’s for 16 or 17 years, they were great boots. Earlier this year the soles started to separate so it was time to replace them. I bought a pair of Danner Sharptails. They are extremely comfortable, almost like having a pair of tennis shoes on. My only recommendation is go a half size bigger.

        Chippewa with a zipper.

I bought the ones without a zipper and they are awesome. Till you try to take them off after working at the ranch in them all day lol. Nearly a 2 person job to get them off!

I like my Justin's. They last forever and very comfortable. I just replace the insert every year.

Russell Moccasins. Hand made and custom fit to you. They are expensive but you wont buy another pair.

I've got Chippewa's too, but you eluded to "leaking" so I assume you want water-proof... Regular Chips are not waterproof, but a silicone treatment will help with that. Chippewa makes a waterproof version, but they are NOT American made and not the same quality as the American made Chips, so buy carefully if you go that route. I also have a pair of LaCrosse rubber snake boots that I got for these East Texas river bottom snakes, and they too are very comfortable. I also have used them in South Texas in wet weather, but if it's hot, those suckers are HOT!! I'd recommend either though.
When looking at the various brands, be careful of the leather boots that have the sneaker type molded on rubber soles... I've had terrible luck with them. That glued on rubber molded sole will start to break loose and you'll need a tube of Shoe-Goo to repair them before you get close to wearing them out. They are very comfortable to wear though.

Thank you all for your information! Hunting these East Texas Piney Woods and River bottoms waterproof boots are a must.

I tried on Chippewa's and they did not fit my feet at all. I tried on a pair of Justin's and they were very comfortable. I have had mine for a lot of years and while I don't wear them a lot any more since we moved back home to Wyoming, I do wear them just for knocking around when I am in the country and they are still great. I would buy another pair for sure.

                            I'm with him.
Had about every boot they've offered over the last 25 yrs.
                            Top notch in every aspect.

I second this. Double down with being fat I was out of breath on boot number 1.
