We are finally getting DSL internet out in the sticks where I live. We haven't used a landline phone in years and I didn't wire the house for one so I don't have a NIB box on my house. Where could I buy one? The internet lady on the phone couldn't tell me if the installer would have one or if I would need to procure one myself.....she wasn't the most technical person in the world...

If they are coming out to install dsl service the phone guy should have a NID on his truck. He’s supposed to place one for you on any install. If you didn’t pre wire your house he will have to run you a cat5 home run to where you want it. Not sure if they realize you didn’t wire your house so they may try to add that on as a extra charge on the install. For Copper uverse installs we run a home run for free even if you don’t have inside wiring. Not sure who your local phone company is but everyone is different when it comes to charges and billing.
