    Take Out Is Changing

I live 10 minutes from downtown Houston and have restraunts in every direction. Been calling for pick up meals for weeks. Restraunts are now closing, and others are limiting their menu. Guess they are also having issues getting food.

Ten days ago I picked up frog legs for lunch. Today a fancy restaurant emailed me about a $50.00 per person 4 course meal that I can pick up Easter.........

I will continue eating out of their fridge and continue filling my fridg.....................

They're not running out of food. They're running out of money.
They can't afford to keep the the same menu as their clientele is probably 25% at best, which is why they have the reduced menu. Hard to keep the doors open with 25% of the revenue.

Yea. Know if a big chain restaurant that did $26,000 last week. That’s what they would do on a Friday night in one store vs the country.

Hard to keep the doors open at that rate.

Restaurants are not having issues getting food.

I have been in the commercial food distribution business 13 years. Most places are limiting their menus to make it easier since they are only offering take out or delivery.

Yes, some restaurants have closed, but that is mainly due to them not have a take out presence to start with.

Our business is down over 90 %, seafood does not really travel well so take out for us is very weak. Closed one location temporarily and hanging on for dear life on the other two, hopefully we will get back to normal before long.

Send people back to work on Monday, at least some of them.

                    Are not.

We have to went to shipping 4 days a week from 6 but are servicing our customers without a issue.

The supply chain is fine. We as a company have plenty of inventory.

Amazing. Just find an arbitrary day and say "go back to work". That's it? We for sure need to get back to work, but it's got to be calculated and planned. Otherwise, this crap is going to stay around, which will make everything worse.
Not sure why I try to reason with people who don't have any reasoning skills. I digress.

According to my wife, which is a nurse at a major hospital in Dallas, we're 3-4 weeks away from our peak if things stay the same now. She gets updates from CDC every day. So, yes Sir, it's staying around but not anyway. It's staying because we didn't stop spreading it soon enough. If we don't stop the spread, ie, go back to work to soon, go to Home Depot...etc. it stays even longer.

My cousin is a anesthesiologists in New Orleans was just diagnosed with CVD-19 this morning. She's working at Oschner's down there with is the Mecca. Mardi Gras and St. Patty's day...no one listened...turning into New York...

So this hits home for me.
I'm in lumber sales and no one is buying a **** thing other than PPE, which doesn't do me any good, so I dang sure get the "go back to work" mentality. But if we don't slow this deal down...it's going to be worse than anyone could imagine.
