    Older fishing reel value ?

I have several old fishing reels that were given to me and have no clue what real world value is . Online prices are all over the place. Just wondering if anyone could give me an idea . 2 are ABU ambassaduer 5500 and 6000 and the other is a 1981 Shakespeare President 2

Can’t help with value but I love those old ABU’s I have 3 that are 5000 model and 1 I believe is the 5500. I still fish with two of them. They hold up very well. Built to last for sure

Great reels from another time...parts still available.Still great fishable reels..But so many produced and used on this tx coast...Value is not too much....I probably have 1/2 a 5 gallon bucket full....Some I purchased new way back70s-90s ,but most bought at G sales/and given to me by friends that don't fish anymore or upgraded to newer ...Nothing official but 10/20 bucks..

Most of the antique stores around me have those reels listed about $50 each.

There was a day when those were big money.

I bought one of those red 5000s when I was in high school (mid 1970s) and it was a game changer. Before that my experience with trying to use a bait caster was with my dad’s old Shakespeare he bought about 1960. Talk about backlash!

Tween dad and I we have over a dozen. 4500 to 6500s. Red,gray, black and green. Even have leather cases for a couple

Other than nostalgia they're not worth much.

I always check ebay when I'm trying to find a price.

Not as much as you want them to be worth. They were made quality and they were popular which means a lot are still around.

Those are the only reels my dad and I use. I’d give 30 bucks for the 5500 and 40.00 for the 6000. The Shakespeare would make good decoration for a man cave. I’ve got a red 5000 that with stren clear blue I can out cast my buddies using shimanos with braid.

This is my dad’s old Shakespeare “Direct Drive”. Still loaded with vintage braided nylon line

I'll keep mine if they aren't worth much. Never know, might get back to fishing some day.
