I have seen several methods. But the best one i seen was,

A foam tote was used for water and wenched up onto a very beefy stand.
Piped from that with pvc till and inline with this was a small metal tank about 2 foot long and 6" wide.
Under that was an element out of a gas stove hooked to a propane bottle to heat the water.

    This thing worked real well.

But on my friends property we use the 5 gallon jugs that have the faucet spouts.
We pour water out of it and heat it up in a coffee pot and pour into it. It takes about 3 times to warm it up for a nice warm bath. We take the jug and put it on the side of the camper and crack open the spout to trickle water out.

A 12V windshield washer pump wired to your truck battery with a switch and one of them shower tents works good. Heat up your water in a turkey deep fryer pot with the propane burner.
Just don't turn up the burner too high... There ain't a lot of room to run around that shower tent!!
But if you have elec., get one of those instant hot water heaters and a on demand pump.

WE bought two 250 gallon totes for our water storage. We then built a shower house with a toilet. The water is pumped with an rv demand water pump that way it only runs when you open a faucet. The water is warmed by a 30 gallon electric water heater.... WE also have a morgan building that will sleep 8-9 people that we built a gutter system that drains into the extra tote. The past years we had no problems filling the tote because we caught all the rain water, but this past year we had to haul about 350 gallons to take showers due to the drought. I have attached some pictures of the tote system and if you have any questions pm me...

Here is mine. I do need to wire a switch in so I do not have to unplug it when I am done. One thing though, you will need to adjust the temp everytime you use it.
