I trapped another 4 pigs in my big trap and after shooting them (the neighbor took 2), the other 2 I hauled off to my dump site. As I was leaving I spotted a hog in a wallow, splashing about and having a good old time!

and stood on the hood to get a better angle. I was about 75 yards and had to shoot through some mesquite trees, but I popped him with my 223 and he never got up. I had no idea how big he was. It was a hog that needed killing.
As I approached I thought he was good sized but when I got to him I was stunned. This bad boy has some of the biggest cutters I've ever seen on a hog in this area (Milam County). In fact, he has the biggest cutters of any hog I've ever shot. I've shot bigger bodied hogs, but this one! Wow!

It was getting on towards dark and the skeeters were getting after me, but I'll go back today and collect his head for a Euro mount and weigh him. It will be a nice addition to my hog post.
