Lots of jobs are being posted on craigslist today because it's either cheap or free depending on where you are. Simplyhired.com is a good 'aggregator' web site that searches many other job boards and puts them in one place for you.

The latest dirty-trick I'm hearing about out here is guys are calling 'high' in the organization and speaking with people at the VP level, and saying they're better (and can prove it) than the person already doing the job, in a tough business climate you need the best talent: fire-him and hire-me.

Only advise I can give having been out since 9/30 is stay busy. I have a home handyman business, contract with another company, and an starting something else this week. Watching tv during the day is the kiss of death (but we canceled DirectTV so it's not a problem here).

I only see 2 rigs drilling around my area. Used to be 10 to 20. Talked to a gas company guy the other day and he told me they were not drilling anymore wells till the price goes back up.
