Afternoon folks,
I have a heavily wooded creek bottom. It took a pounding in '11 with much of the old growth getting killed off. many oaks 4-5' in diameter died. Time was daylight never hit the ground but now yaupon and misc vines are flourishing. I'm thinking I need to cut and poison many of the vines. I'm sure they have some wildlife value but they grow so heavy on the existing trees they tear them down. I saw a 6" grape vine in a tree this morning. Question is how much... although there are so many I may never be able to get 50%. Or is it best to leave wild.
