When throwing the weight end of a shoreside trot line into the river...make sure the other end is tied to the tree first. Twice in the past two days I’ve launched the weight only to watch it pull my entire rig in and disappear. It’s not so much the cost of losing the line and gear, but all the dang time tying swivels and hooks and loops and such. I suppose I’ve got two or three more before I finally learn my lesson.
