Do it now! I am left eye dominant and do everything right handed and it jacks with me... everything from shooting, golf, batting, etc...

I have learned to deal with it but it would be so much better if I just learned left handed on most things.

The hitting has me wondering. He bats right handed so it'll be interesting to see how he does lefty.

I’m right handed, but left eye dominant. Been shooting left handed ever since the day my Pops figured out I was left eye dominant and never looked back.

that is a good thing as his left eye is towards the pitcher.

But it is at an angle to the ball. I started trying to switch hit at 13 or 14 and could always see the ball better as a lefty.

A little story. I was a decent hitter with a very closed stance as a 12 yo. Next year got on a new team with a coach that had played pro ball. His kid was the best player in our league (eventually played D1 college ball) and I was the only kid that could hit his curve ball, so his dad drafted me the next year. After watching me hit in the cage for a while, he asked me if I knew my eye dominance. I told him I was left eye dominant.

He opened up my stance and it was like a new world. I could see the ball much, much better because I was using both eyes more, even with the angle for my dominant eye. After I got used to it and was hitting very well, he told me to try hitting lefty. Made good contact though I didn't have any power, but I could see the ball even better left handed.

Anyway, OP, your boy is young enough that he shouldn't have any issues if y'all stick with it for a couple of weeks. He probably won't like it at first, but just stick with it and he will be fine.

I'm right handed and left eyed. I switched bow shooting from right to left years ago and never looked back. It takes some getting used to but well worth it.

My oldest son, now 28 years old, was the same way. I switched him to left for bow and gun as soon as i realized he was left eyed. He's never had an issue and it was clearly the right thing to do for him.

Left eye dominant and right handed here (LE/RH).

I'm going to say there is no right answer and one size doesn't fit all. Whether someone is LE/RH or vice versa, that individual should do what they're comfortable with. Nothing is insurmountable with this condition and the shooter can train themselves either way. There is no "better."

Do I see better out of my left eye? Yes. Can I still shoot expert with an M4 w/iron sights and a 7lb trigger with my right eye. Yes. Even at 45 years old. And despite being fairly ambidextrous, I wouldn't switch to shooting left handed for any reason.
