Saw this on facebook. I got a good laugh. We are going to quarantine ourself at ranch. Plenty of meat and if we out there is always Axis and Blackbuck available. We have internet access so wife and I can still work.

Was joking about eating bats and now the realization is hitting of how much food we go through as a family of five, suddenly eating all of our meals at home. It’s a bit staggering and has us taking a closer look at how long we could run comfortably if we were to be confined. A batch of cookies and a fish fry knocked out a bag of flour without us batting an eye.
Plenty of really good food around , lots of fish, deer and some mystery packs in the freezer that need thawing, and I wouldn’t mind if I fit better into these pants my wife shrunk.

The whole point of having the kids home is to keep them away from “other kids”......you’re not doing your part to flatten the curve.

Well I’m doing my part tonight RLB. We got home tonight and me and the wife have house to ourselves so we are doing our part. You obviously don’t have kids in their late teens and 20’s.

                This is my problem too!

But for supplementing meals, we're going to hit the free lunch meal pickup line at the school close by the house. Even if it's not much it's at least the snack between meals for our kids.

Glen in your position, you may ask them to start bringing something to contribute to a group meals. Make it pot luck meals. They're grown and can understand the situation right now, treat them that way and talk to them about it.

We're talking to our 14 year old (he'll be 15 in 2 weeks) about it. He will wipe everything out. We've told him the food we're buying has to last because of the situation at the grocery stores. We don't mind if he's hungry he can eat, but don't eat it all because we may not be able to restock quickly. He gets it and is trying to help. But he did say today, "Dad let's go shot a hog or two this weekend". Meat isn't our problem it's the sides. We probably got enough meat for 4-6 weeks if not more and that's with me and him home all day. Got vegetables for 1 week max. We do have a decent stock of rice. So could be rice and venison one day and venison and rice the next for a while.

BigL that is a great idea. Pot luck. I saw an ice chest in the driveway and where they cleaned fish sometime tonight. They ain’t got much to do so I’m gonna have the kids run jug lines and whatever and feed themselves. Got plenty of corn meal

Hopefully the “private prom” thought has been scratched!

We’re laying low and not having visitors. Just fixing what we need to eat and hoping others are staying in and doing the same.

We have already had more incidents on the lake. 4 kids on PWCs and two of them wrecked. Have had a bad cut and broken foot ankle this week all kids. If the sun is out it will be like a holiday weekend. Only difference is seems no adults out to supervise. I guess with parents working the kids are taking the boats and PWCs unsupervised. “The Creek” will be 200 boats deep if the sun and weather gets hot. We have never had this much until Memorial Day

My guess is more than just a few people across this country have a deeper appreciation for teachers right now and some might even be realizing their child's bad behavior is not the fault of the teacher or school system.

Not keeping the new neighborhood kids out of mischief---ringing doorbells, etc. But this week one (or 2) of them entered a house down the street at 4:30 AM but woke up the wife whose screams scared them away, leaving a pair of sneakers and fingerprints. Several folks have doorbell cameras w/pics but LEOs won't apprehend due to the virus unless crimes go beyond criminal mischief If they ring my doorbell and run they are gonna need TP as the 12-ga makes a lot of noise, even discharged into the ground. If it keeps on, there's gonna be a shooting eventually IMO.
