    Wedding insurance curve ball

We own a wedding venue and every event is required to have event liability insurance and all the major companies that write it have halted issuing anymore policies. Can only guess they are worried of insurance claims if people claim to have gotten sick at an event.

Not sure how we are going to handle this one, didn't see it coming. Going to have to consult a business liability attorney I guess.

Just curious, do they offer a type of coverage (similar to travel insurance, I guess) to protect you when a wedding falls through/cancels when you have your venue booked? Obviously, you might lose the venue rental amount (whatever wasn't paid up front), but you also stand to lose out on alcohol sales, equipment rental, etc.
I would think some weddings are being postponed/cancelled with the virus scare.

Sounds fishy, like most things involving insurance. Hopefully y’all can get it figured out!

We only make money on the venue rental, and yes for $115 dollars couples would have been covered and gotten their deposits, etc..they paid to all vendors

Wife is on numerous wedding sites and 1 bride posted that she had taken out a policy with USAA and they paid her back all the payments she had made. Other brides are blaming venues but it states in our contract that we strongly urge them to purchase event cancellation insurance but none of them think they will need it and now this. I've posted on tbh before about this.

After reading your previous post about venue insurance, I have been telling anyone I talk to about it. Cheap coverage for unexpected things.

            .....and God Bless America.
