That was the whole point of the email to dealers...the system is getting overwhelmed & combined with the loss of nics folks due to covid, they may not have time to review all the delays & get back is what is normally hours-2 days. It reads to me they may have to extend the traditional BTD & are kindly requesting dealers to adhere even though the law is 3 biz days & actually up to dealers if they want to proceed.
So, you are looking at a thug who may possibly slip through & other buyers who may be used to waiting some & then tell the dealer to refund if they can't get their firearm. Worst case would be a 1st time buyer who is threatened (regardless of circumstance) and misses the opportunity to defend themselves. All of this is hypothetical but certainly plausible. It seems strange to me & most of you being in a position where this is a non-issue, but I ran into a nice lady at the checkout counter just yesterday & got to talking about the panic buying then ammo came up...she said she was a single mother & never shot / owned a firearm.
