I got impatient and bought the BM Bugout Black CF-Elite. It seemed to fit my needs pretty well and was reasonably priced. Although i can see a ZT 0450 CF in the near future, plus i might order some new scales for my PM 2 to keep in more work bag.

I have a sheepdog in S35VN. That is the only other steel I know of. I am a fan of their blades, and if you have a wicked edge, they are sharp enough to cut your thoughts.

Out of the 3 knives your thinking about going to I would definitely recommend the Benchmade 940. The bugout and the ZT450 are also great options for what your looking for. I have all of the ones your asking about and I prefer the 940 it's just a great design. If your comparing the ZT450 and the BM940 the reason I usually grab the 940 is I prefer the axis lock over the frame lock.

Hmmmm S35VN is definitely acceptable in my book. I’ll give them another look. Haven’t carried an Emerson in 5-6 years now.

That really helps. I've had my eye on the 940 for a while and will probably still end up getting it. I like the axis lock but struggled with my mini grip due to it being so small in my hand. I think a slightly longer yet still thin profile knife will work better and not make me want to remove it from my pocket everytime i sit down.

Big fan of ZT 0350TS here. Carried for a good while now and it seems a part of me.

My ZT is the best pocket knife I have ever carried. The blade holds an amazing edge and sharpens very easily.
