Since I had the day off Monday, I thought I would Take my dad fishing.
We got up early, ate breakfast, and drank coffee together. This was
shaping up to be another great father and son experience. Little did I
know, that my dad was just going to wear me out at bass fishing.We
headed up the North Bosque from Lake Waco and started fishing. I'm
flippin' a watermelon candy brush hog in thick cover...nothing! Dad
starts burning a 3/4 ounce spinnerbait through the brush. He catches
one, then another, then another! They are all about 4-5 lbs. each. I
couldn't catch a cold! Dad says, "Son, I've got another spinnerbait
just like this one. You want it?" I said "No" until ripped another 5
pounder in the boat. I swallowed my pride and tied it on. Still
nothing! Dad put on a little Kevin Van Dam clinic and kicked my butt! I
enjoyed every minute of it though. He's had a stroke, a heart attack, 4
bypasses, and 2 artificial hips, and he just wore me out! I love that
man! He taught me right from wrong, and how to hunt and fish.
