My computer wouldn’t connect at our rental and still won’t connect at the home we just bought. My wife’s laptop will. The computer is at least eight years old. Does age have anything to do with connectivity?
If it is time for a new one I’d like an “all in one” package and don’t wanna spend a thousand dollars. I’m not a gamer if that makes any difference.

Sounds like your WiFi card may be failing due to age, the same thing happened to my wife’s PC last month. A new card can be installed, not sure what the cost would be for you as my buddy took care of ours with a spare card he had.

get you a wifi usb dongle. They are cheap and made by dlink, can be found on line, no need to replace the wifi on board. Have you made sure its on? There are short cuts you could of hit to make sure its on, if all else fails, try to open cmd promt and type in this code.

          ipconfig /release

then once that runs try this

          ipconfig /renew

          hit enter after both.
