Specifically Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins? Honest question from a non-resident of Dallas County. I've looked online and find varying statements about the role of the County Judge in Texas. Clay Jenkins seems to be the point man for anything and everything he wants to be the point man on in Dallas County. Seemingly whether he knows anything about the subject or not. I would like to understand the role of the County Judge. Anyone?

Like a mayor, in an emergency the county judge can issue emergency management declarations and so on.
