Well, this moved the needle a little for me

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZFhjMQrVts"]How Serious is the Coronavirus? Infectious Disease Expert Michael Osterholm Explains | Joe Rogan - YouTube[/ame]

This guy is legit. Kind of made me pucker up a little bit.

I just started listening to that one, fascinating stuff.

This one is really good as well. His "best case scenario" is still pretty dang bleak.

Sam Harris speaks with Amesh Adalja about the spreading coronavirus pandemic.

Still shouldn't panic over it, panic is never the right response, we need to act rationally and appropriately.

          Very interesting, thanks for posting.

It is a shame that we have outsourced so many vital products to other countries because it is cheaper and that may come back and bite us in the arse.

China is threatening to withhold (from the US) meds and treatment supplies they manufacture, hoping to "drown the US in a sea of Coronavirus."

Further... a HUGE number of these things and many others weren't necessarily "outsourced". The Chinese have been stealing our tech and other intellectual property for decades. Then they begin mass production of these things, undercut the US and other manufacturers, flood the markets to the point where we simply can't compete, then they take over entire production.

Most of us and our so called "leadership" have been willing to look the other way or simply not give a ****, so long as the price of these things were so much cheaper.

Hopefully we will learn a lesson and go back to doing for ourselves.

                  F China!

I saw that as well. What, in everyone's opinion, would be the proper response to that for the US and what would the actual response from Trump be?

For starters, a 25 year embargo on ANYTHING being shipped from China... if their cargo ships enter our waters, we sink them without warning.

Yep.....we are our own worst enemy! Hopefully this opens some eyes and we don't get caught with our pants down again.

Let the free markets do its thing. Encourage American entrepreneurship with a stimulus of some sort (not looking to just give out free money, before the dogpile on me starts) all around pharmaceutical production here in the US. Quit subsidizing wind and solar energy for people and start giving grants to companies willing to produce pharmaceutical needs, so that US manufacturers could keep their prices competitive with Chinas. America could be 100% self sufficient, no doubt about it.
