Went yesterday for the weekly food stop and I’m trying to convince the wife for us to go back today to crack open a beer and people watch. The items people were stocking up on were hilarious. One lady had 17 cases of Dr Pepper and canned beans lol

Some are panic buying because they think 14 cases of bottled water and 142 packs of TP will keep their families safe. Some people are buying things their financial situation cannot and should not support. Some are buying just to avoid the inconvenience later, some are hedging their bets that the infrastructure will be impacted.
Regardless, at some point everyone will either have what they need or can afford, or they will experience anxiety fatigue and just roll with it. I think we’ve got more turbulence ahead but the current rate of silliness is not sustainable, financially or mentally.
I can confirm heb is absolutely insane. I didn’t expect all of this until next week and needed to get out usual two week grocery trip completed. Been in a checkout line for 20 minutes and haven’t gained much ground.
